A lovely little pub within moments of the Royal Albert Hall that is hidden away down a small side road that almost feels like it is a driveway rather than a street. Make the effort to search it out and you won’t be disappointed.

In their own words:

“We like to think The Queen’s Arms is much more than just a blimmin’ great place to eat and drink in Kensington. It’s a relaxing retreat for all, offering an almost encyclopaedic range of world beers, wines and spirits alongside fresh, seasonal pub food dishes, and a good helping of our own inimitable charm.”

“Tucked away on the famous Queen’s Gate Mews, The Queen’s Arms may be out of sight but it’s certainly not out of mind. It’s one of those rare hidden gems you stumble upon and keep coming back to.”

I happen to agree. Before going to an event at the Royal Albert Hall I spent several hours in this pub with a few friends. The atmosphere was friendly and vibrant and the location feels like you’ve found a proper local for locals. It was so good that when I found myself nearby this week I had to pop in for a couple of cheeky pints to reacquaint myself with this pub. The beer selection was as I remember it, extensive, well selected and well kept. I had a couple of pints of Meantime London Pale Ale and loved it although they had Adnams, Sierra Nevada, London Pride, Thornbridge’s Pica Pica and loads more. I was spoilt for choice. The wine list looked good and so did the food.

Owing to its size it gets full quickly and tables get reserved in advance but on nice days it is great to stand outside in the street and take in the fantastic and unique location.

If you are in the area I can totally recommend it.
